Rather than taking place in a dungeon, the game is set in a functioning, procedurally generated city, where complex AI informs denizens from all walks of life, who are just trying to get by in their daily activities.
In order to progress, the player will need to accomplish specific mission goals in any way they see fit through use of their special character traits, items, and the environment.
- Will you play as a soldier who shoots first and asks questions later?
- A stealthy scientist who uses chloroform and tranquilizer darts to silently take down the opposition?
- A genial bartender who can talk his way past the most intimidating of guards?
- Or how about a hyper-intelligent gorilla, rescuing other caged gorillas to form a small mobilized gorilla army?

The following is a small guide to creating a Custom Character.
- 1Character Creation
Character Creation[edit | edit source]
Creating a character is relatively simple. Below is a guide for creating characters with pictures provided. You can do each step in any order, but you Character must have a name. There is also a bug that can cause you to get stuck on a certain page.
Name and Description[edit | edit source]
You will be presented, at first, with a screen saying: 'Name (Required)' and 'Description (Optional)'.
Here you should type in what you want the name of your character to be and, if you so desire, a description of their backstory. For this demonstration a Farmer will be used as the custom character.
Then click across at the top to go into step 2.
Appearance[edit | edit source]
Now you should see what looks like a mishap of a person, this is where we do our appearance! Click on the arrows to cycle through what they modifiers, each of which are explained below:
- Changes the character's clothes on their torso.
- Changes the overall colour of hats and clothes.
- Changes hairstyles and hats, on your character.
- Changes the overall colour for hair and facial hair.
- Changes the skin tone on your character.
- Changes the colour of shoes.
- Changes the pupil and eye size.
- Changes the whites of the eyes to a different colour.
- Adds hats and sunglasses.
- Completely randomizes your character's look.
After all that your character should look a little like this:
Attributes[edit | edit source]
Endurance, strength, accuracy and speed. The 4 core components that make up any character. This is where points start to matter. Points can be seen on the right hand side of the screen along with limitations on Traits and items:
Points are a sort of currency used for the rest of the steps in creating a character. You have 20 to spend at first, though more can be gained in a later step. If you exceed the points limit you will only be able to use your character in sandbox mode. Getting back to attributes, each time you click the arrow to up one specific stat you will spend 2 points. If you wish to know what each of these stats mean please go here. After that here's what my farmer looks like:
Special Abilities[edit | edit source]
Special abilities. These are some of the most expensive things when creating character. They are not required, however can be very useful. I couldn't find one that suited my farmer so I didn't use one.

Traits[edit | edit source]
Traits, good and bad, are a main contributor to creating characters, here you can also regain some points. When accessed you are immediately presented with a long list of traits. Some cost a lot of points, some cost very few points. Picking a bad trait will actually regain points, rather than spending them. You may only have 8 traits on any one characterFor my farmer I chose:
Starting Items[edit | edit source]
Items, the final part of creating a character. Once on this stage you will see a list of most items in the game. Certain items have numbers next to them, this represents the amount of that type of item you get or the amount of ammo in a weapon. Similar to traits you may only have 8 on one character. For my farmer I chose:
This left me with 20/20 points spent. That's it for this guide. Go out and mess around in the Slums with your new character.
